Mass was held at St. Thomas Aquinas, led by Fr. Christian. PicMonkey Collage april 25, 2015 vigilThank you Helpers for braving the bad weather to attend this Procession for Life. Thank you Fr. Christian for leading His flock to prayer.

“At to the abortion mill, the Helpers pray for the babies that are going to be killed. They carry on a most important spiritual battle, as they stand outside the mill. they pray in a spirit of  reparation: for their own sins; the sin of abortion; and particularly for the deaths that will occur while they stand outside on that day. They pray for women going into the abortion mill: for the abortionist and his staff; for the neighboring community; for their legislators; for the religious leaders of the nation; and for all who, through indifference, do nothing to try to stop abortion”.—Msgr. Philip Reilly

October 25 Procession with Fr. McNulty

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Procession for Life on October 25th at St. Mark Catholic Church followed by prayer with Father Paul McNulty at A Preferred Women’s Health Center on Latrobe Drive.

Over 30 people from various parishes participated in the event—joining parishioners from St. Michael’s, St. Ann’s with Fr. Reid, and St. Patrick’s with Deacon McNulty who were leading their own vigils in front of the abortion mill earlier that morning.

Father Jason Christian of St. Thomas Aquinas and Father Noah Carter of Sacred Heart in Salisbury also joined our Procession for Life.

There were A LOT of rosary-praying Catholics interceding for the unborn, their parents, and the medical workers who were inside the mill that morning. It was such a grace to have so many from a variety of parishes—especially 4 priests and 1 deacon—praying on the sidewalk at the same time.

Let’s do it again!

Our next event will be in January at Charlotte Catholic High School followed by prayer at Family Reproductive Health on Hebron Rd. with Father Kauth.

Date to be announced soon!

Photos from March Vigil with Fr. Winslow

March 2014

We had such a great March vigil – thanks to all who came out. It was somewhat difficult to do a head count as we had so many Catholics on the sidewalk!  About 36-38 of us who came from Mass at St. Thomas Aquinas to Latrobe were met by a group of approximately 20 parishioners from St. Michael’s in Gastonia. While we were praying, there were also other Catholics doing sidewalk counseling – the Griffin family from St. Patrick’s and the Harrison family from Sacred Heart.  Also present was a group of about 4-6 people praying the rosary in Spanish.  That’s what it’s all about! Catholics in action spiritually fighting against perhaps the greatest evil of our generation, culture, and nation.

There were also others on the sidewalk from various ministries including the Pregnancy Resource Center in Charlotte.  Our prayer and presence supports them as they reach out to the mothers and fathers walking into the clinic – to offer immediate help to anyone who would dare to choose life.

On our way back to our cars to head to the church for Benediction, Fr. Winslow talked with us for a few minutes as a group about the nature of spiritual warfare that exists behind the scenes in this culture of death.  He reminded us that we are there to fight for the people who are trapped in the great lie and spiritual darkness that is abortion – including the workers and protesters who try to silence us as we pray.

What a wonderful day to see so many faithful pro-life witnesses from a variety of parishes in our diocese! We hope for another great turnout next month. We’ll be meeting at St. Vincent de Paul and praying at Hebron with Fr. Shaw – check out the vigil schedule page for details.

Photos from February Vigil with Fr. Reid

Feb 2014Thank you to all who came out to our February 22nd Vigil at St. Ann’s (even while the rosary congress was happening nearby)! Following Mass, the group prayed at the Hebron abortion clinic with Fr. Reid (see photos below).

SAVE THE DATE: Our next vigil will be Saturday, March 8th at St. Thomas Aquinas parish: 10am Mass followed by prayer with Fr. Winslow at the Latrobe abortion clinic. We will pray for a short time then meet back together at the parish for Benediction. See you then!

Please share this with friends, family, and fellow parishioners this special and powerful monthly opportunity for Eucharistic-centered, pro-life prayer with our diocesan priests at our local abortion clinics.

Photos from December Vigil w/ St. Vincent de Paul

Thank you to everyone who came out to pray this month as we joined the St. Vincent de Paul parish Respect Life group for Mass followed by their regular First Saturday time of prayer and sacrifice at the Hebron abortion clinic (see photo below).DecemberPlease make a special note of our January prayer vigil!

It will take place the weekend before the March for Life in D.C..  It will be Saturday, January 18th with Fr. Kauth at the Charlotte Catholic High School chapel.   Mass will be at 10am followed by a time of Adoration in the chapel concurrently with prayer at the Hebron abortion clinic.  Folks are invited to stay and pray in Adoration or join us in prayer with Fr. Kauth on the sidewalk.

We are hoping to get a good turn out of high school students to join us on the sidewalk or in Adoration, so please share this opportunity with family and friends—Eucharistic-centered prayer for souls on the front lines of the greatest evil we face in our nation—as we intercede for the children, mothers, fathers, abortion doctor, nurses, and staff.

Photos from November Vigil with Fr. Riehl

Thank you to everyone who attended our November vigil at St. Thomas Aquinas parish followed by prayer at the Latrobe Dr. abortion clinic with Fr. Riehl.

Our December prayer vigil is next Saturday, December 7th with Fr. Mark at St. Vincent de Paul parish. Afterwards we will pray at Hebron.  It will be great to have a vigil at the Hebron Rd. abortion clinic again, since we haven’t been there for several months. We hope you can join us!

Please share this opportunity with family and friends—Eucharistic-centered prayer for souls on the front lines of the greatest evil we face in our nation—and don’t forget that if anyone doesn’t prefer to pray on the abortion clinic sidewalk, there will be Adoration at the parish concurrently for the same intention: the mothers, fathers, and their children whose life they seek to end, as well as the abortion doctor, his nurses and staff. God bless you for your support!

Photo from August Vigil with Fr. Hoare

Thank you to everyone who came out this past Saturday for our Charlotte Helpers prayer vigil at St. John Neumann on Idlewild Rd.  Fr. Hoare’s homily was wonderful, it was all about respect and love for human life in the womb. There was a litany of Mass intentions named for every aspect of abortion and for those involved in pro-life work.  We are very grateful to Fr. Hoare for this and for accompanying us to the abortion mill on Latrobe Dr. Please tell him thank you if you see him!

Photos from June Vigil with Fr. Miller

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Charlotte Helpers prayer vigil on Saturday, June 15th.  We had mass at St. Patrick’s then processed with Fr. Miller and Deacon McNulty to the Latrobe Dr. abortion clinic. Our time of prayer at the clinic was joined simultaneously by Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament in the church. We prayed for an hour then met back up at St. Patrick’s for Benediction. A big THANK YOU to Deacon McNulty and Fr. Miller for leading us in this time of prayer for the unborn!

Photos from May Vigil with Deacon James Witulksi

Thank you to everyone who came out to our May 25th prayer vigil.  Mass was at St. Thomas Aquinas with Fr. Thanks for your support of the Charlotte Helpers.  See you next month! Visit our Vigil Schedule page for our next date in June.
