Photos from July Vigil with Fr. Deacon Matthew Hanes

Thanks to everyone who came out to our Saturday, July 13th Charlotte Helpers pro-life prayer vigil. We had morning mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, then prayed at the Latrobe Drive abortion clinic with Fr. Deacon Matthew Hanes of St. Basil’s Ukranian-Greek Catholic Mission which currently meets in the chapel on the campus of St. Thomas Aquinas. We had a great turn-out, 31 people joined us and the rain held off just long enough for us to finish our rosary, thanks to those staying behind and praying before Our Lord in the tabernacle back at the chapel (special thanks to Michael and Mary Jo!).  After we met back up in the chapel for closing, Fr. Deacon led us in a beautiful chanted Marian prayer that dates to the 7th century. Thanks to everyone who made this a great vigil . . . and hopefully an efficacious one too. This particular vigil was a great reminder that our most powerful weapon to fight against evil in our world is the liturgy of the Church . . . through the prayers of the Church, the Divine Liturgy (the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass) and Eucharistic Adoration. See you next month!

Priests Praying Exorcism Prayers Produces Great Fruit

Priests Praying at Abortion Mill Face Demonic Attack

NASHVILLE, TN (Catholic Online) – “And how can men preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach good news!’” (Rom 10:15).

According to tradition, typical demonic responses during exorcism include foul language, references to sexual perversion, deceit, and profuse blasphemy. Similarly, prayers for exorcism outside the Northern Illinois Women’s Center abortuary in Rockford have provoked just such a reaction from pro-abortion workers and activists within. “Not Against Flesh and Blood, But the Rulers of Darkness.” Their revulsion for anything as holy as a Catholic priest is evident in their bizarre window displays, a few of which reportedly include a nun in a coffin, a rubber chicken hanging from a noose, and a picture of Jesus flipping the bird that says, “Even Jesus Hates You.” The beautiful thing about this ongoing battle is that the number of abortions has reportedly been cut by half at this abortuary since the spiritual power of the Jesus was first unleashed through the prayers of the priests who have prayed outside since September of 2008. At least, the abortuary seems to blame them and the special prayers of the Church . . .  Continue reading here:

Helpers of God’s Precious Infants – Charlotte, NC

CHARLOTTE HELPERSblankThe Helpers of God’s Precious Infants was originally begun by veteran pro-life hero Msgr. Reilly in New York. The Charlotte chapter is a group of committed Catholic pro-lifers living in and around the Charlotte area.

The Charlotte Helpers launched in 2013 in response to Pope Benedict’s Year of Faith as well as the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops call to prayer for the intentions of Life, Marriage and Religious Liberty.

We host our Procession for Life four times each year in January, April, July, and October. This event includes Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, and prayerful witness outside of Charlotte abortion clinics with our diocesan priests.  We place ourselves under the mantel of Our Lady of Guadalupe: Patroness of the Unborn, the Americas, and the New Evangelization.
